1. I've heard people say Almitas Yacon Syrup is an industry-leader. Is this true?

Almitas Yacon Syrup is an industry-leader when it comes to its nutritional profile. 

In independent laboratory tests, food scientists have found that Almitas Yacon Syrup contains 30% Fructooligosaccharides (FOS), which is the highest amount of any yacon syrup on the market. FOS is a vital prebiotic, and one of the main reasons yacon is considered a superfood. 

2. Are Almitas superfoods organic and non-GMO?

Yes. Almitas superfoods are grown and harvested using traditional, time-honoured native methods and sources that have been around centuries before modern genetic engineering. That makes them naturally and proudly non-GMO.

In addition, all of our supplier-partners (in Peru and Canada) have organic certifications that cover each stage of a product’s growth, harvesting, processing, and packaging.

Rest assured, if feeding your family organic and non-GMO foods is vital to you, Almitas has you covered.

3. What food safety and quality standards does Almitas adhere to?

Food safety and quality are two pillars of Almitas’s foundation. From our farms to your table, we have a transparent process that protects our products every step of the way. That is why we seek out and form alliances with supplier-partners who value these practices and beliefs as much as we do.

In Peru, our supplier-partners have processing facilities that are certified by HACCP and GMP. These globally recognized systems and practices ensure both the safety and quality of our products.

At the other end of the chain, in Canada, we have sought out supplier-partners who are certified under BRC Global Standards, the leader in safety and quality standards for manufacturers. The supplier-partner who fills our Yacon Syrup into jars and bottles has a BRC Global Standards certified facility with an AA rating. For our other superfoods, we are in the process of confirming a supplier-partner who can uphold these same high standards.

4. Are Almitas superfoods suitable for people with dietary restrictions?

Yes, Almitas products are suitable for people who follow vegan, gluten-free, or keto diets. If you have other dietary concerns or restrictions, please feel free to contact us to find out if our products fit your requirements.

5. Are Almitas superfoods suitable for people with food sensitivities or food allergies?

Our superfoods are processed and packed in allergen-free facilities. However, we recommend that you contact us before purchasing if you have specific concerns. That way, we can clarify if our products meet your personal restrictions.

6. How long does it take to receive my order?

Our shipping times vary from 4-12 days, depending on where in Canada you live:

  • Ontario and Quebec: 4-7 business days
  • Eastern Canada: 5-7 business days
  • Western Canada: 5-12 business days
7. Do you offer free shipping? If not, how much are your delivery charges?
Yes, if you live in a contiguous Canadian province, shipping is free when you order at least $75 of Almitas products before applicable taxes.

Below $75, shipping costs will vary based on your location. If you enter your address during checkout, the shipping charges will be calculated and displayed before payment submission.

8. I don't live in Canada; can I order Almitas products?

At the moment, our e-commerce website only ships to contiguous Canadian provinces. If you live elsewhere in Canada, or anywhere else around the world, please contact us and we will e-mail you when our site can ship to your country/region.

We can, however, accommodate wholesale and bulk-buy options regardless of your location. Contact our wholesale division to find out more.

9. Can I return my order or get a refund?

Due to the nature of our product, we are unable to accept returns. But, rest assured, we are here to help if you have any issues with your shopping experience or your purchases. Please reach out to us directly with any problems, and we will follow-up with a phone call and e-mail to address your concerns.

10. Is Almitas a brand I can trust?

Almitas is the consumer brand of Canadian superfood company Linkus Global. Linkus built its reputation as the go-to supplier for the superfood ingredients used in a variety of ready-made products. Almitas’s goal is to provide the same industry-leading quality to consumers that its parent company has, for years, provided to North American food manufacturers.
